The Need – Our Story behind the gap in school attendance and education: For billions of students enrolled in local, community, and federal government schools, basic school supplies remain out of reach. Many students attend classes without essential items such as pencils or notebooks, preventing them from fully participating in daily lessons and activities.
Recent consultations with parents and educators regarding the provision of essential school supplies at no cost to students have yielded consistent feedback across various communities and regions. Respondents emphasized that access to complimentary supplies is crucial for promoting equity in the learning environment. Furthermore, the availability of these resources has a significant positive effect on daily classroom operations, enabling both teachers and students to concentrate on important educational activities without concerns about resource shortages.
The disparity in healthcare services is primarily attributed to insufficient equipment, inadequate infrastructure, staff shortages, suboptimal facility conditions and maintenance, as well as the burden faced by healthcare professionals. These challenges frequently undermine healthcare delivery and result in less favorable outcomes. The narrative of Nhyira at the pediatric oncology department in Korlebu Teaching Hospital and St. Marie Louis Children’s Hospital exemplifies these issues.
